Postcrossing!

So my new hobby is Postcrossing, a postcard exchange thingy where you send postcards to people around the world and they send postcards to you.

I decided to use some scrap fabric to make postcards to send; here are some that I've made.

People seem to like postcards depicting where you live, so I used some of my scrap NYC fabric to make cards, as well as some cat fabric (everyone loves cats) and some other things that I thought were pretty and fun.

To make the cards, I cut a 4x6 inch piece of Kraftex and a 4x6 inch piece of fabric and adhered them with fabric glue before doing some decorative stitching with my machine. They are thin and flexible and cost the same to mail as an ordinary postcard.

I found that making postcards was a fun way to use scraps of prewashed fabric that I would not use in a quilt (I never prewash my quilt fabric, only fabric for garments.)

You can learn more about Postcrossing.com and start sending some yourself if you want!
